Meet The Director

Caryl Churchill
Caryl Churchill is one of the most influential and significant contemporary British dramatists working today. The author of more than 30 plays, as well as a number of adaptations and translations, she has reshaped the theatre landscape and continues to produce adventurous new work. Her first professional stage production, Owners, premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 1972. The Royal Court, with its reputation for producing experimental and controversial works, has gone on to be instrumental in developing her four decade playwrighting career. Throughout her career, Churchill has remained committed to politically engaged feminist theatre. Some of her most acclaimed plays include Vinegar Tom (1978), Cloud Nine (1979), Top Girls (1982), Fen (1983), Serious Money (1987), Blue Heart (1997), and Far Away (2000).
