Faculty Librarian Positions

  • 无码变态 is now accepting applications for full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track Collegiate Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor faculty positions in the University Libraries that begins as early as October 1, 2024. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia, and will serve the following subject areas: humanities, social sciences, or science/math.

     

    Responsibilities include the following, at a minimum:

    • Provide instruction in research and information literacy for both face-to-face and online classes.
    • Foster relationships with faculty to incorporate library instruction into courses in multifaceted ways
    • Develop and maintain digital or physical instructional materials to support subject disciplines and individual courses
    • Work with students to develop advanced level library research skills
    • Develop academic enrichment opportunities to support advanced student and faculty research
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with 无码变态 units, departments, centers, etc., that support student and faculty research efforts and collection development. Support university research teams' activities and initiatives.
    • Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends in librarianship and advanced research support
    • Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession.
    • Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

     

    Because our libraries are open 7 days a week and in the evenings, these positions will occasionally be required to work during these times to serve the needs of the students. These positions will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

     

    Required Qualifications Include

    • An earned master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library, such as an MLIS, or other related equivalent terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent
    • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • A minimum of 1 year of instruction experience

    Preferred Qualifications Include

    • A minimum of two years of experience working as a librarian in an academic library or related institution or equivalent experience
    • A record of professional service

    • Coordinate and improve a tiered reference workflow for a single service point model that supports excellent information delivery services.

    • Maintain and coordinate all virtual reference services including chat and FAQs.
    • Manage statistical reporting system and analyze and evaluate reference services.

    Job Summary

    Responsible for support and maintenance of library applications and systems. Works closely with third-party vendors and various departments within the university to configure, support, upgrade, test, troubleshoot, document, and provide training for library applications. Maintains the internal communications lines for the Resource Strategy and Management Unit and serves as first-line troubleshooting for internal tickets.

    5. Escalates issues to members of Resource Strategy and Management, University Information Technology Services, library employees, and vendors as appropriate

    7. Contributes to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures within the Resource Strategy and Management Unit.
